Etsy payment processing fees by country
Every Etsy Payments order has a processing fee: a percentage of the order plus a small flat amount. The rate depends on where your bank account is, not where your buyer is. Here is Etsy’s full country table and how the fee is calculated.
How the processing fee is calculated
The fee is a percentage of the order’s total sale price, including shipping and any sales tax, plus a flat fee per order. It is deducted in your Payment account before your deposit, and it is separate from (and in addition to) the 6.5% transaction fee. Worked examples
United States: a buyer pays $25.00 for the item and shipping plus $2.00 sales tax, so $27.00 in total. Processing fee: 3% × $27.00 + $0.25 = $1.06.
United Kingdom: a buyer pays £24.00 in total. Processing fee: 4% × £24.00 + £0.20 = £1.16 (VAT may then be charged on that fee, see below).
Canada: on a CA$50.00 order from a buyer in Canada or the US, the fee is 3% × 50.00 + 0.25 = CA$1.75. The same order from a buyer elsewhere is 4% × 50.00 + 0.25 = CA$2.25. (Illustrations only; your statement is the authority on what you were charged.)
VAT on processing fees

Refunds

Currency conversion and deposit fees
If you list in a currency other than your payment account’s currency, Etsy charges a 2.5% currency conversion fee. In a few countries (Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines, South Africa, Türkiye and Vietnam), deposits above the minimum but below a threshold also carry a deposit fee. Sellers in some countries (Etsy lists the UK, France, Italy, India, Spain, Türkiye, Vietnam and Canada) also pay a regulatory operating fee.
